Mastery in the Shadows / 阴影中的磨炼
Over a decade ago, I entered a premier leather manufacturing facility in Southern China as an apprentice. My days were consumed by crafting leather goods for established European luxury houses. Although I was just a worker in a massive system, those grueling years forced me to master the world’s most rigorous technical standards—the precise stitches per inch, the flawless hand-burnished edges.
Yet, that was also where I saw the hidden reality: many bags retailing for thousands of dollars owed their structural soul to anonymous Chinese artisans like us. A quiet defiance grew within me: Since we have already mastered world-class craftsmanship with our own hands, why shouldn’t we use the absolute finest materials to create our own high-end, original designs?
The Tuscan Obsession / 意产皮的执念
Leaving the assembly line meant making a foundational choice: we banned cheap, chemically-treated chrome leathers. Instead, we committed to genuine, certified vegetable-tanned leather from Tuscany, Italy.
This organically-tanned leather is incredibly costly and retains natural grain scars, making it notoriously difficult to work with. But it breathes, and it develops a magnificent, unique amber patina over years of use. It is leather that carries a living history.

During our workshop’s silent search for identity, my wife entered my life. As an independent graphic designer, she brought the missing piece. My strength lay in the structural soul of leather, while she brought international proportions and refined minimalism.
We spent countless nights at the drafting table, debating the millimeter placement of a brass buckle. She transforms my raw utility into sophisticated, purposeful original design, and guided our digital doors to the global market.
